Portadown too strong for Alliance!

Despite the unavailability of several swimmers the PTL squad had a convincing 40 point victory over Alliance at the Grove pool Belfast on Saturday night. Those who stepped in to fill the gaps did so showing great determination to ensure that the club came away with an important 'first win' on their season debut. Portadown got off to a 'flyer' taking all but one medley relay stroke and from then on Alliance were always playing catch up despite a spirited performance in the final Freestyle relays but by then it was too late to influence the result. Congratulations to all who took part in this thoroughly deserved win. Although there is no swimming on Monday 29th October club night will run as usual on Wednesday. The next PTL fixture is another away trip in early December when Ballymena will be the opposition.

Ulster Schools Success for Club Members

Congratulations to all club members who took part in the 'Ulster Junior Schools' Gala held in the Grove Belfast on Saturday 13th October 2007. Several swimmers, including Caitlin Wylie, Eden Magwood, Beth Irwin and Daniel Chambers qualified for the Irish finals to be held at the National Aquatic Centre in Dublin in December. We wish them all the best and look forward to hearing how they got on.

Sunday Swim at Cascades!

Yes, it's true, Sunday swimming in our own home pool! Next Sunday 21st October 2007 will be the last session out at Brownlow, in future we will be able to swim at Cascades as sessions in both big and small pools have been confirmed. This is a great opportunity for club members to get additional pool time and it deserves full support. A big thanks is due to all the staff at Brownlow who have done their best to help us out during recent pool closures at Portadown, it would have been impossible to have kept going without them. Full details of Sunday sessions at Cascades are available at the club desk on Wednesday nights.
