Diary dates for May and June

Here are some important dates for the months of May and June. In some cases it has been necessary to make changes to our normal sessions.

Sunday 4th May - Stroke Development Meet 5 Graded Gala at Grove, Belfast. Warm-up 10.00am

Saturday 3rd May - Monday 5th May Bank Holiday Weekend swimming cancelled.

Friday - Sunday 9th-11th May - Ulster Championship (no Club swimming this weekend!)

Saturday 10th May - Teletot Gala Portadown V Dungannon (this will take place at Cookstown). Time is yet to be confirmed.

Saturday 31st May 'Club Home Gala'

Friday 6th June - Teletot 'Swim-Off' Final ( no Saturday morning swimming). Time and venue to be confirmed.

Monday 9th June 7.00pm - AGM in Portadown Fire Station (Meeting Room) - attendance is essential for next year registration.

Swimming cancelled Wednesday 11th -Sunday 15th June due to 'Sinbad Water Show' at Cascades.

Wednesday 18th June - final club night of the season!

Thursday 19th June - PASC Prize Night Portadown Golf Club 7.00-9.00pm

PTL squad defeat Mid-Ulster

Well done to the senior swimmers who last night produced a great display to beat Mid-Ulster rivals 524 to 615 points! At last we were able to put out an almost full team and even after the opening medley relays the signs looked good. Each swimmer played their part in this impressive performance from the youngest 'A' Group right up to the 'D' squad. It's great to finish our PTL fixtures on such a high note, we may not have the numbers of other teams but swimmer for swimmer we showed what we can do. Thanks to all who made it such a good night.

Teletots defeat Mid-Ulster!

Congratulations to all members of the Teletot squad who defeated the visiting Mid-Ulster team 234 to 166 points. It was a determined performance from the junior swimmers and no doubt several can look forward to hearing of new Personal Best times. Portadown took the lead straight from the Medley relay events and never really looked to be in any danger of losing. It was also good to watch some of our very youngest swimmers in action and see how much they have improved. Thanks to all who came to support and help out on the night. Next Saturday it will be the turn of the senior squad who will also face Mid-Ulster in a PTL fixture. Details of the team will be given next Wednesday night and we hope to 'do the double' over our rivals.

Teletot Gala V Mid-Ulster

Members of the 'Teletot' squad are reminded that their next gala takes place at Cascades on Saturday 5th April against Mid-Ulster. Warm-up is at 5.30pm and squad members are asked to meet at the pool at 5 o'clock. We have made a great start to the season but once again we need 100% effort from everyone.

Swilly Seals win PTL Gala

Swilly Seals from Letterkenny returned to Donegal on Saturday night with a well deserved away victory. Unfortunately Portadown were missing several swimmers and this fact made things all the more difficult especially against such syrong opposition. A special thanks is due to those younger members who were asked to 'swim up' on the night, their effort and willingness to compete was very much appreciated. Our next PTL gala is against Mid-Ulster and let's hope that we can get back to winning ways.
